A great Handoff Drill
Running backs should constantly practice the hand off. A simple drill for a hand off is to line up all of your running backs in two lines facing each other in what we will call line A and Line B. At the coaches signal player A leaves line A running with the football towards line B. In sync with that first player, a second [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] player leaves line B, when they meet player A passes to player B. At the point of the hand off another player leaves line A and runs towards player B, who [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] hands off the ball to the new player. This drill should perform in a seamless motion. It is an effective drill to teach handoff skills and [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] help running backs achieve higher accuracy and consistency.
Traditional Driving Block
When talking about the fundamentals of a [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] great offense or defense, you [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] have to know what a good driving and blocking techniques are. Hence the name for the most common drive: the drive block. It is a simple yet effective way to move your opponent. The first step of this block is the scrimmage alignment, in order to drive to the right or left this basic block will push your opponent in the way that they are aligned, so if they are aligned [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] to the right the drive will push them to the right. When executing this block start with your play side foot, meaning if the play is on the right side of you it will be your right foot. Connect hard against your opponent, bring your other foot into play and continue to drive in the [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] aligned direction.
Proper Catching Leads to Great Ball Security
When a receiver catches the ball they need to immediately put it into a secure ball carrying position. A [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] great catch can be broken down into three steps: First, keep your arms extended out in front of your body with your hands out [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] forming an imaginary triangle with your fingers and thumbs. Second, follow the ball through with your eyes. Third, secure the ball tight and high against your ribs, forearm, and biceps. Bad habits can form easily as many receivers look away mid catch to scan the field for defenders. Taking your eye off the ball increases incomplete passes, fumbles, and turnovers. To prevent this, have two receivers throw to each other [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] and as they catch it have them slow down the motion so that they pause at each catch, follow through and tuck.
Dehydration is an enemy to football success
Dehydration should never [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] appear on the football field if both the players and coaches have good habits. Each athlete should bring or have a water bottle provided, and they need to use it often. Times have changed and coaches these days should be aware of hydration needs and not use [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] water as a reward, or withhold it as a punishment. When players are hydrated and energized they will practice harder and learn more.
